Beyond the Wellbeing Form

Beyond the Wellbeing Form

I am always excited and somewhat nervous when a new client books an initial BodyTalk assessment. I wonder who sent them and what they have going on that is bringing them in to see me.

Just last month, a middle aged woman came in looking very unwell. She slumped into her chair and I read out loud what she had shared on her Health and Well Being form.

1. Waking in the morning with eyes so swollen up she could barely see
2. Scary dizzy spells up to 5 times a day
3. Off work because she felt so ill.

The only thing she could state as a precipitating event was having gone to a spa and soaked in a salt water pool. No, she had not slipped or bumped her head.

She told me that she had seen a client of mine for counselling because she was being badly treated by her managers at work and he said; "You have to go see Julia Laidlaw. She will figure out what is going on with you."

"No pressure." I soothed myself.

The first thing that came up on the treatment table was the usual of teaching the client to breathe more deeply.  Once some sense of calm was established in both of us, I got a pop up. "Cerebral-spinal fluid leak." I shared this with the client, after checking with Innate. and to my surprise she said; "I had wondered about that." "Really, why?" I asked and she said she didn't know. This was my first clue that she was an empath who received information she could not explain. "Have you told your doctor what you think?" "No, she would never understand how I knew this."

A few more links to repair this leakage through the gunas, and she was cooked.

She came back the next week and felt somewhat better and even had one morning where her eyes were not all swollen up. This gave her some hope. This session she recalled that she had been to the chiropractor just before the symptoms occurred. Yes, Innate said, this is the precipitating event for the tear in the neural tube. This session ends with her sitting up on my table and having one of her dizzy spells. I comforted her through it and gently helped her to her feet when she was ready. "Thank you for showing me what your spells are like. That was perfect."

Yesterday she came in beaming. No more swollen eyes and no more dizzy spells at all. Pain in her liver was the presenting issue this time. "Ah, in Chinese Medicine the liver carries your anger and resentments. Here is the deeper reason you are here to see me. You have described how you do everything for everyone and they don't look after you. Did I get that right?"  "Yes, I do and you are right." "A perfect recipe for resentment, I would say."

This time the links were about consciousness of separation and the belief system of not being good enough. Lots of emotional release happened and the session concluded.

I just heard from her this morning and she reported; "Good session yesterday - gained lots of insight. My upper stomach became quite sore through the evening but feels much better today. Thank you again - look forward to my next visit and will be continuing to work hard on my recovery  - both mental and physical."

I love that I get to do this work.

All my best,
Ms. Julia Laidlaw, MSW, RSW, Par, CBP, Parama BP
