5 Myths About Module 5: Lymphatic Drainage and Applied Anatomy and Physiology
1. I need to have an Anatomy background to take the class.
Module 5 is designed to inspire you to become excited by anatomy. You do not require an anatomy background, in fact, this course is designed to get you started!
2. I won't be able to use the material if I don't have a license to touch.
We will be developing our tactile sense and subtle senses by working on each other in class but you will also learn how to take your new skills into off-the-body treatment. In fact, the skills that you will learn in Module 5 will help you to modify any manual technique into an off-the-body approach.
3. This class just teaches another lymphatic technique.
Although Module 5 does incorporate and teach a highly effective technique to support the lymphatic system, there is so much more to the course. You will be learning to dive deep into "details?, more specific?" as well as "physiology definition". You will leave this class with an invaluable resource to allow you to easily navigate through anatomical details and physiological definitions all the way down to the quantum level. Watch your formulas come alive with information!
4. Why do I need to learn a Lymphatic Drainage technique if I can address Lymph on the basic protocol chart?
The Veltheim Method of Lymphatic Drainage offers a unique approach to addressing the lymphatic system in both a general or very specific approach by encouraging movement of interstitial fluid that may have become stagnant. This approach to lymphatic and immune health is entirely unique to BodyTalk and offers a non-invasive, but profoundly effective, method of moving toxicity, pathogens, waste products and emotion from the body thus improving energy, vitality, and overall health. Set yourself apart from the rest by offering this invaluable service to your clients.
5. The class is all about draping and massage.
We will be working directly on skin when we first learn VMLD in class. As a result, we will be learning how to drape each other in a manner that provides comfort and security. These will be useful techniques if you do hold a license to touch and plan to practice VMLD on skin in your clinic. This is a short but important aspect of the course as it teaches us professionalism and provides comfort as we learn the technique. Keep in mind that you will be also learning how to perform the technique over clothing and completely off the body. You will be amazed by how powerful and palpable the off-the-body approach can be.

- Add a new stand-alone service to your practice to attract clients: The Veltheim Method of Lymphatic Drainage
You will learn the ins and outs of the lymphatic system from a western, eastern and VMLD perspective. An unhealthy lymphatic system can weaken the immune system, cause joint pain and immobility, lead to swelling and excess water retention, and cause a toxic environment in which dis-ease can take hold.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach BodyTalk Module 5: Lymphatic Drainage and Applied Anatomy and Physiology.
I have an absolute passion for Anatomy that truly developed from my years of practice as a BodyTalk practitioner and as a student of Osteopathy. I originally came to this role as a "lay person" who was intitially very intimidated by the material that I am now thrilled to teach. I did not have a professional health care background when I started my BodyTalk practice and, like many practitioners, was apprehensive when it came to anatomical and physiological details. I was also concerned about "touching" the body as I didn't have a medical license.
BodyTalk opened my eyes to the incredible abilities of the human body creating an absolute awe that ultimately inspired me to embark on a continued course of study. As a result, I am now completing a Diploma in Manipulative Osteopathic Practice
Prior to training in the healing arts I spent over 20 years as a professional dancer, performing, competing, teaching and working with elite athletes and artists. My background has taught me the importance of mastering the basics as well as the ability to take something complex and break it down into something accessible and user friendly. As a result, my teaching style focuses on understanding the language of the BodyTalk system and establishing a confident mastery of the basics. My goal is to provide my students with clarity and confidence in utilizing the tools provided by the BodyTalk system.
