Key Tools to Strengthen Your BodyTalk Practice: Part 2

Another key in having a successful BodyTalk practice is the ability to articulate 'what BodyTalk is.'  This is part of my practitioners-in-training's homework when they complete their exams with me.  They need to be able to easily and fluidly explain to a prospective client what BodyTalk is all about in 2 minutes, as well as, prepare a great 10 minute introductory talk to their clients.  It is imperative that they give a thorough and clear understanding of what BodyTalk is, how it works, the importance of the recommended follow up dates, and how you can expect to see results; immediately or gradually and, more importantly, to educate them on the amazing benefit of the preventative and maintenance aspect.

In the West, we are so focused on fixing problems only when they arise.  I heard that somewhere in the East, patients only pay doctors when they are well, and if they get sick, the consultation is 'on the house'.  That's their ethos on preventing and being proactive when it comes to their health.   This is what will change healthcare and the world.  The awareness to nurture and treat our bodies as well as we do our cars!  Sometimes I joke with clients and tell them how we should have a mechanism built into our wrists that keeps reminding us of when our next service and tune up is due, so that we're doing our best to prevent (communication) breakdowns and illness in future.   The same thing as the built in mechanism on your cars' dashboard!

This leads me to another concern; the number of CBPs that do not feel it is necessary to provide client's with a follow up date.  I will never forget another important thing John Veltheim mentioned back in about 2005, when a CBP in the old Right Brain class, put her hand up and stated "I'm just not getting any results with my clients."  The whole class turned with obvious shock, as we all got great results, as you do with BodyTalk.  The first thing John replied was, "Are your clients returning on their recommended follow up dates?"   "Ah no, well this client came two weeks late, and the other one three weeks late."  "Well then don't talk to me about not getting results.  If you are not following the guidance of the body, that knows what needs to be treated, and when, then you are not following the system."

So this is something I have been very thorough with, and something I really drill home the importance of, with the practitioners that I train. How will the body ever say "no, no future BodyTalk balance is a priority?"  And this is more important with those first 3-6 sessions of new clients; when you are working with an agenda, to tick off those items on their shopping lists (health and wellbeing forms); the reason they are coming to you in the first place.

With maintenance sessions, this is not so much of an issue, so for those CBPs who then wish to say "come in when you feel it necessary" or "you don't need to come back', that's more acceptable, than hearing this is how some CBPs handle new clients that have a large 'shopping list.'

And yes, some clients just want their issues cleared, and some want to continue with maintenance and prevention and enjoy the self-growth aspect.  And that's great.  That's their prerogative.  But please I encourage you to follow the system and best serve your clients with the correct instruction and direction.

Happy Tapping, and a big shout out to our wonderful SA BodyTalk community, and SABA. You all work so diligently to grow BodyTalk in your areas, and have such wonderful hearts.

Much love,
