Effective January 1, 2018:

• Group Sessions now provide 1 CEU per session.
• CEUs are eligible to roll over into your next 2-year CEU time frame.

Group Sessions with John from January 1, 2018 onward will provide 1 CEU per session. Students will receive the CEU after our records indicate that the session has been viewed. CEUs will not be offered for Group Sessions on PaRama Campus that posted prior to 2018.

Also, as you know, Practitioners and Instructors are required to complete a set number of CEUs over a two year period (32 and 40 respectively). In the past, anyone who earned more than the required number of CEUs, during their two year period, forfeited them. Going forward, we will now carry forward any CEUs you earn, in excess of your requirement, to your next CEU period. This change applies to any courses with CEUs that you have taken from January 1, 2018 or later.

Scenario 1
I am a Practitioner. My CEU period is from June 1, 2016 to June 1, 2018.

During this CEU period I earned 56 CEUs. However, none on them were for courses taken between January 1, 2018 and June 1, 2018. Therefore, there is no carry over. 

Scenario 2
I am a Practitioner. My CEU period is from January 1, 2017 to January 1, 2019.

During this CEU period I earned 40 CEUs. 26 CEUs were earned for courses taken between January 1, 2017 and January 1, 2018. 14 CEUs were earned for courses taken between January 1, 2018 and January 1, 2019. I earned 8 CEUs (40 minus 32) over the requirement. Since the 8 additional CEUs were earned after January 1, 2018, they will all be carried over to my January 1, 2019 to January 1, 2021 CEU period.

Scenario 3
I am an Instructor. My CEU period runs from April 1, 2016 to April 1, 2018

During this CEU period I earned 48 CEUs. 46 CEUs were earned for courses taken between April 1, 2016 and January 1, 2018. 2 CEUs were earned for courses taken between January 1, 2018 and April 1, 2018. I earned 8 CEUs (48 minus 40) over the requirement. However, since only 2 CEUs were earned after January 1, 2018, only 2 CEUs wil carry over into my April 1, 2018 to April 1, 2020 CEU period.

While this may initially appear to be of little benefit (due to the January 1, 2018 implementation date), over time this will be of great benefit to all Practitioners and Instructors. All CEUs earned throughout all of 2018 onward will be eligible to be carried forward into the next 2-year CEU period.
