Just imagine, how differently our lives might have unfolded had each and every day been ushered in with the four simple words:

ONCE UPON A TIME

Perhaps, grown-up forgetting might never have happened in us, at least not as profoundly. After all, as little children, for a brief while regardless of our environment, we all experienced life as the magical, mysterious adventure it is. Perhaps, it is this faint memory that gives

ONCE UPON A TIME

its enduring power to enchant even the most forgetful grownup among us.

Imagine a storyteller from days of yore landing in a time machine in our present day. What amazement they might experience, finding stories being streamed through the ethers, emanating via all manner of strange objects. Were grownups in days gone by any less addicted to stories than we are, do you think? Who knows. On some level, we all seem to sense that stories are something we really need in our lives, even if we believe their only purpose is to help us escape.

The surprising thing about stories and fairy tales is that no matter when they arrive in our lives, their arrival is always timely. We may not immediately apperceive what they are showing us, but in one way or another they work their magic on us anyway. What happens when we really give them our attention is quite wonderful.

The first story in our Story Time series is especially timely. It speaks to the dawning of the mechanistic age and to its repercussions on the inner woman in all of us. And, as is the case with all good fairy tales, our story provides us with the formula for healing and transformation.
