BodyTalk Enthusiasm in Switzerland

Small Country, Great Enthusiasm

The Swiss BodyTalk Association has now been around for seven years. We are a group of 67 BodyTalkers, with 37 of us utilizing BodyTalk professionally in our clinics. The idea to create the association was born out of a need for closer cooperation and when introducing BodyTalk to the public became an increasing priority.

During those seven years, the number of members has grown continually, and the association's activities continue to evolve. Two years ago, we set up a new website to provide first-hand information to our clients and present the Swiss BodyTalk practitioners more strongly. We'd love for you to take a look at www.bodytalkschweiz.ch.

Our current core activities consist of supporting members, organizing basic and advanced training, and marketing the BodyTalk System. In addition to coordinating BodyTalk seminars, we think it is important to offer short-term trainings on topical subjects of interest, like online marketing. We genuinely want to support our practitioners in every respect and empower them with our service.

For practical support, we organize regular practice groups tailored to our practitioners' needs. For example, we offer groups for our new BodyTalkers to practice their BodyTalk biofeedback methods and other BodyTalk techniques. We also offer groups for advanced practitioners to discuss different modules and the associated techniques and practice them. When the strict Covid restrictions were in place, we also had online practice groups; necessity is indeed the mother of invention, and that's been true for us! At the moment, we are thrilled that we can have live practice groups once again. And of course, twice a year, we also meet just for fun and to enjoy a relaxed get-together!

At the beginning of the pandemic, we initiated a project to organize session trades, and it is still very active, even after more than a year. German-speaking BodyTalkers from all over Europe trade sessions once a month. It's so wonderful to see that so many people network and benefit from the sessions on all levels. In present times, it is especially important to get together and share this treat with each other.

In recent years, we have often taken the opportunity to present BodyTalk at trade fairs where we have held public talks to make BodyTalk more well-known to a broader audience. In one-on-one conversations with visitors, we show them how to do the Cortices technique, answer questions about the BodyTalk System, and hand out informational brochures. Through these methods, we have been able to attract new clients and also new practitioners. The BodyTalk System certainly gets people's attention! Our next stop will be at a prominent health fair in Zürich this month if everything goes according to plan. We are really looking forward to it!

One of our next projects is the official approval of BodyTalk as a healthcare system by statutory health insurance. Until now, clients in Switzerland, as in most other countries, must pay out of pocket for their BodyTalk sessions. As a first step, we applied for an advancement award through a Swiss foundation. The extensive documentation--which included a description of BodyTalk and its development by Dr. John Veltheim and the listing of impressive practical session examples--eventually filled a small book. All Swiss BodyTalk Association board members took an active part in compiling the documentation, which ultimately became an attractive presentation and a collaborative work.

On behalf of all the Swiss board members, I can say that we are very pleased that we are in such close contact with our BodyTalkers, that we get to know their issues and requirements through direct communication, and that we can work together to find solutions. Helping our community of BodyTalkers is our greatest motivation! Together we are stronger, and our mutual exchange brings forth a lot of excitement in our community.

It requires dedicated people on all sides to maintain high and sustainable energy so that the matrix can keep growing. The BodyTalk System is simply too convincing not to know about it.

If we have succeeded in inspiring you to organize your own local BodyTalk community, a practice group, or a group for swapping ideas and exchanging views, it would be a great pleasure for us! Should you have any questions to this end, we look forward to helping you along.

With warm regards to everyone,

Natascha Hardegger on behalf of the "BodyTalk Schweiz" association board
