Beauty, Pain, Belief Connections

This article is in reference to a special recorded session series that can be taken by anyone at any time to address symmetry, physical beauty, pain, pathological beliefs, and the nervous system. Details here

Child to Adult Healer

As a child, I could see and feel "things" that were off in someone. When they suffered, my wee hands naturally reached out to touch them. I felt myself taking in their pain and taking care of it. I had no words for it at the time, but family and friends reported feeling better. It was so natural to me that I did not even consider there was another way. Once I opened my practice in 1995, I sat in front of my client. A huge light wheel would open before me, and drawers with labels would open--for example, a past life, liver, Mother. Once the drawers were done revealing themselves, the imbalances would come to the center of the wheel and then traverse a line from their heart into mine. I would take it into my body, and it would be balanced in me in minutes, hours, or even days later. A dear cousin discovered Dr. John Veltheim and BodyTalk. She thought his system was like what I had been doing, except that it was "a system." It also meant I would no longer take in the client's dis-ease. I am sure you can imagine what a relief it was for me to find BodyTalk.

I signed up immediately for BodyTalk Fundamentals and subsequently took the advanced BodyTalk modules with John. My love affair with BodyTalk began. In 2005, I attended BreakThrough 1. I could hardly contain my excitement. I simply had to meet the founder of BreakThrough, Esther Veltheim. Forty days later, I was sitting in Esther's class, and I felt I had come home. After my long search for teachers, from India to Daskalos in Cyprus, my quest was completed with John and Esther Veltheim, both of whom I will forever be grateful.

It is hard to believe 20 years have gone by since my first BodyTalk class and 17 years as a BreakThrough instructor. I continue to experience both BodyTalk and BreakThrough as a novice--wide-eyed, and curious.

My "Harmony Unveiled" Group Sessions

It has been quite a journey putting together a series of three BodyTalk sessions that build exponentially as a group. My interest in symmetry started with facial imbalances. Sometimes, one eye is larger, sunken, or lower than the other. This led me to delve into the entire body and mind. The golden mean ratio and the Fibonacci sequence both support the beauty of our natural symmetry. Fascia spirals in the form of the Fibonacci sequence. Fascia can put up to two thousand pounds of force per square inch on bone. Ouch. Using the Fibonacci sequence and moving the fascia clockwise or counterclockwise, the fascia can tighten or loosen as needed. Isn't that great news for shin splints? I have dealt with my own spinal issues and severely degenerated hips. I have had difficulty walking, but when I use the Fibonacci sequence in conjunction with the golden mean ratio for the fascia in my leg muscles, I have an easier time getting from point A to B. So, the first session in the series works with your symmetry, whether for tension, stressors (physical or mental), or beauty.

As soon as this session was formulated, physical AND emotional pain came up. Physical pain was obvious. I asked, "But aren't both too much for one session?" Each time I asked, "More specific?" there was a resounding "No!" My head kept saying, "But," and innate said, "Look up emotional pain." The term emotional pain is very ephemeral (at least to this writer), but our experience of emotional pain is very real. It can be experienced as shame, loneliness, anxiety, and depression. If you have ever experienced any of those or others, you know how painful it feels. Emotional pain can also take its toll on the body. Additionally, prolonged physical pain can result in emotional pain, such as depression or hopelessness. Gotta love the journey innate takes us on, eh?

Now, where was I going to be taken for the third session? The nervous system and consciousness. All I could say was, "You've got to be kidding me." As some of you may know, I have been teaching, giving and receiving, and continue studying BreakThrough. The explanation of BreakThrough changes and evolves as we evolve. That sounds so lovely, doesn't it? On one hand, it is liberating, a perpetual adventure. On the other hand, BreakThrough is like standing on tectonic plates that keep shifting underfoot. Will I ever get my footing? Yes, then a new journey unfolds. I may have a self-satisfied Cheshire-Cat grin, and oops, the plates start moving, and I venture into exploring another way to stand on these moving plates with the least amount of effort. That is BreakThrough to me at the minute. However, by tomorrow, it will evolve. Once again, a shift, then further stabilizing in my nervous system.

What does this have to do with consciousness and the nervous system, you may ask? This third session brings awareness to beliefs that bung up the nervous system. All the ideas, thoughts, and beliefs about ourselves that suck the juice out of the myelin sheath. The session will help get the flow back into the myelin sheath and free up the nervous system.

I do hope you enjoy these sessions as much as I enjoyed putting them together and using them in my own tool kit. Each time I listen to them, something different stands out and shifts. I hope it is the same for you.

Your comments and feedback are welcome.

Thank you,
