The BodyTalk MidAtlantic Association
After quite a long and arduous winter, Spring is about to unfold in the northeast corridor of the United States. But Spring is not the only notable thing that is blossoming in the Northeast, so is the BodyTalk Matrix. The first sign of new growth came back in 2011, when after much nurturance and cultivation, the BodyTalk MidAtlantic Association was officially established. The BodyTalk MidAtlantic Association serves the Philadelphia, Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland communities as the resource for education, collaboration, and promotion of BodyTalk throughout the region. While we define our physical geography, we welcome the expansion of our consciousness beyond all physical limitations, and proudly have a membership that reaches from Maryland to Wisconsin.
The mission of the BodyTalk MidAtlantic Association (BTMA) is: "To increase public awareness of The BodyTalk System through community outreach, promotional events, and public course offerings, as well as to provide ongoing education and support to the region's Certified BodyTalk Practitioners, and the students of BodyTalk". The Certified BodyTalk Practitioners of the BTMA support professional growth and skill development for BodyTalk students through mentorship and study groups. We have a Collaborative, Cooperative Board that shares equally in Association responsibilities. The 4-person Board meets on a monthly basis to discuss upcoming initiatives and future pursuits, Membership meetings are held quarterly, and Membership dues are paid yearly. Coordination of all course offerings and events is accomplished collectively, through a joint effort by the Board and Membership. All proceeds from courses, events, and dues go directly to the Association for use in future promotional activities, courses and events. Our first Association event, the Mind Body Spirit Expo, was held last fall and was a whopping success in sharing BodyTalk with our local community. Members follow the standards and guidelines of the International BodyTalk Association to assure professional excellence, and the BTMA is recognized by the IBA.
Since our inception, we have sponsored as many advanced modules as our schedule would allow, including Principles of Consciousness, Macrocosmic BodyMind, Bio-Dynamics, and Matrix Dynamics. Our 2014 course line-up includes BreakThrough (March 28-30), MindScape (September 5-7), and BodyTalk for Animals (May 1-4). We are very excited to host Loesje Jacob for the only BodyTalk for Animals offering in the United States this year! This will be a very experiential course offering that includes a local zoo, a humane society for dogs and cats, and an equine facility, all a short drive from the Philadelphia Airport. This is a don't miss event for anyone who is looking for a learning opportunity integrated with the animal kingdom where they can experience a wide variety of animal species. Our discounted rate is available to all who sign up by April 9.
It has certainly been challenging to start the BTMA from the ground up, much like this winter, but inevitably, the blooms of Spring do appear. It has been rewarding to see our efforts take root, and to know that it was shared passion for this work and a willingness for all of us to get our hands dirty that has made it possible every step of the way. We have been grateful for the support that we have garnered in our journey, the wonderful instructors that continue to grace our region, the challenges that have made us stronger, and the ever-growing consciousness of the BodyTalk Matrix. We look forward to supporting the continued growth and expansion of the BodyTalk Matrix in the northeast.
