Biography
I am a licensed massage therapist with 30 years experience using massage therapy techniques to help myself first to heal and then work on my clients to heal. Being able to heal and be a channel for others to open themselves up for the opportunity to be pain free, and begin the journey of self-care and the journey of listening to themselves and being for me one with spirit and divinely guided and nurtured along on this path.
I am a Suncoast School of Massage Therapy graduate from a 500 hour course and 100 hours in Shiatsu certification . The first four years I earned 400 Continuing Educational Units coursework, as I had a thirst for learning and finding the techniques that resonated with my expertise to facilitate your self-healing journey.
Why am I so passionate about BodyTalk and it’s ability to bring balance? It has changed my life and the lives of many people I know and trust in the world. When I used these techniques with massage therapy scar tissue easily releases, structure and energy balance, chronic pain and acute pain eases, and my longevity to do massage therapy for a life time ensures me that I will be able to keep on doing, just that with ease. In 1994 , I began taking these courses in Direct Fascial Release taken, the whole series of classes. Significantly these techniques helped me get mobile, flexible and without pain to release the tension in my body. I liked that it was relaxing as I was experiencing this, I began taking photos of all the work from all the teachers in the field of the course work I really enjoyed in my life. . I took the five courses in 1994-99. Direct Fascial Release and Shiatsu and Reflexology, and Regional Tissue Release part of Cranioscacral class I took years ago. Then listening inside I am able to design a specific treatment tailor-made for your needs and wants to alleviate pain, stress and injury to the body. Fortunately, using this integrated approach and then adding the modalities that are the priority really allows the innate wisdom to lead me to where I need to be working.
Then, in 1994 I began blending together techniques that I used to achieve the best results to help my clients alleviate pain relief. Using an Integrative massage approach provided a more comprehensive approach with maximum results. I have been a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner from 2002 and have been studying it from 1999. I have taken all the basic modules and PaRama BodyTalk 1&2, Manual Lymph Drainage from the BodyTalk System, BreakThrough 1&2, Mindscape 1, Right Brain Practical, BodyTalk Access, BodyTalk Direct, Mod. 5 Lymphatic Drainage and Applied Anatomy and Physiology, Structural Integration Concepts for BodyTalkers, the Soul’s Journey Exploring the Mind and the Three Brains, Epigenetics for BodyTalkers. I am a lover of learning to provide my clients with these cutting edge results. Actively attending the BodyTalk conference since 2001, 2005, part of 2013, and 2015 & 2017 conferences, and most of the advanced modules. This will be 20 th year in this field.
I have a background in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Buffalo State College with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
Helping people move beyond trauma, pain and stress into peace of mine, where they feel more grounded, centered and planted has been Helping them achieve balance in their lives is one of the best results when people are drawn to this work.
I like working with all types of people children to the elderly. Virtual sessions seems to work best these days but in-person sessions work mutually well. One of my goals is to help children create more balance and be grounded in their decisions to live a full life now. And create a space for that in the work that I do as I have empathy, compassion and have sensitivity to the process and the capacity to self-heal as this is what I experienced and to give back to humanity this gift to the world. I believe I am here to facilitate that with the BodyTalk™ work and with the other techniques that I may implement while working with your child or your family.
I have experienced caregiving, working with seniors 87-97 years old with BodyTalk™ helping them with their memory, pain levels, and wellbeing. Especially when many seniors are widowed that need for touch is necessary. Sometimes when having a massage applied to their skin is too thin, which is too tender to touch having a BodyTalk™ wins and provides the only relief insight. The gentleness of BodyTalk™ makes it a wonderful modality for the young at heart and those who benefit from that nurturing energetic balance that is experienced when the metabolism is in homeostasis.
My teaching background has been working in New York State as a substitute teacher, grades K-12; and a migrant tutor and summer school teacher for grades Pre K to 8 grades in Physical Education and Pre K to 1st grade. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with children from many different cultures and work well with all children/adults from Autism to ADHD to ADD to Dyslexia and learning and behavior disorders, to children who were creative in the arts and reading, and writing, etc. Children to adults benefited from my work and the results speak for themselves.
