Keynote Speakers

James L. Oschman, PH.D.
Jim Oschman is one of the first academic scientists to investigate the basis for complementary and alternative therapies. He has published more than 30 full-length scientific articles in some of the world’s leading academic journals and 50 articles in alternative and complementary therapy journals.

Dr. Oschman has degrees in Biophysics and Biology from the University of Pittsburgh. He has worked in major research labs around the world including Cambridge University in England, Case-Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, the University of Copenhagen, Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he was on the faculty, and the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, where he was a staff scientist.

Jim has served as Acting President of the New England School of Acupuncture and as President of the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine. Dr. Oschman continues his research and writing in Dover, New Hampshire, where he is President of Nature's Own Research Association. He presents lectures and workshops on energy medicine around the world.

Søren Ventegodt, M.D
Søren Ventegodt is the Director of the Nordic School of Holistic Medicine and the Quality of Life Research Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. Dr. Ventegodt is also responsible for a Clinical Research Clinic for Holistic Medicine and Sexology in Copenhagen and used as a popular speaker throughout Scandinavia.

Soren has published numerous scientific articles and a number of books on holistic medicine, quality of life, and quality of working life. Recently he has written textbooks on holistic psychiatry and holistic sexology.

Nancy Werner, M.D
Like many of my patients, BodyTalk and I crossed paths in 2001 when seeking a solution to arthritis in my hands that hindered me in my ongoing practice of Medical Acupuncture, and had failed to respond to the different modalities I explored. After 3 BodyTalk sessions, my symptoms vanished, and I decided to add BodyTalk to my healing repertoire!

Andera Carter
Andrea Carter, Certified MindScape and BodyTalk Instructor, became involved in The BodyTalk System nearly 10 years ago, and like many it changed her life dramatically. Andrea’s goal was to have the Canadian standards of academia recognize our system. After 3 years of work, the goal is coming to fruition with Mount Royal University. At the conference, Andrea will unveil the progress and potential for the future of our system within Canada.

Dorothy Frisen
BodyTalk in the Philippines 2009-2011. From children to seniors, from grass roots to Congress, from north to south, the tapping is passed on from friend to friend, organization to organization. Dorothy Friesen reports on the growing centers of BodyTalk Access activity and the way the 5 simple Access techniques have been stretched to deal with severe emergencies and illnesses in areas where there are no doctors or money to pay them.

Loesje Jacob
Loesje (Loosha) is Passionate about sharing BodyTalk with Youth & Animals around the globe! During our Conference this year she will be sharing a glimpse into her Adventures in Indonesia with the Youth from around the world & the Orphanages in Batam Indonesia, the 63 Elephants in Way Kambas National Park, Elephant Training Center in Southern Sumatra, as well as in the jungles of Borneo with the orangutans & World renowned Primatologist Birute' Galdikas!! (Birute' is a primatologist, conservationist, ethologist, and author of several books relating to the endangered orangutan, particularly the Bornean orangutan. Well known in the field of modern primatology, Galdikas is recognized as a leading authority on orangutans. Prior to her field study of orangutans, scientists knew little about the species).

Yoriko Ogura
Yoriko Ogura, CBI has been instrumental in the development and growth of the Japanese BodyTalk Matrix. Yoriko’s desire of bringing BodyTalk to Japan began with the opening of BodyTalk Japan, which she founded with Muyuki Yamada in Osaka, July 2006.

Since the formation of BodyTalk Japan, the Japanese matrix has seen solid growth with almost 100 CBP’s now active in the country. Yoriko will provide an update of the current members, CBP’s, seminars and activities happening in Japan and provide some background on the history of BodyTalk in Japan.

Melissa Smith
Melissa Smith, president of the Australian BodyTalk Association, will be presenting on the work that they are doing in Australia to implement a Certificate IV in BodyTalk. This will be a nationally recognized government approved course where potential students may qualify for government assistance to study. It will also provide the opportunity to lobby Health Funds to provide reimbursement for BodyTalk sessions. Once this is accredited with Government it then opens up the opportunity to then develop a Diploma of BodyTalk as well.

Laura Stuve
Laura Stuve is a PhD molecular biologist, Adv CBP and CBI. Over the past couple of years Laura has been working Adv Senior Instructor, Janet Galipo, on a BodyTalk research project for chronic pain. ILaurawill be presenting the results from this project as well as future developments in this research, as well as what they have learned about how to do a research study with BodyTalk.
