What is BodyTalk?

BodyTalk is an astonishingly simple and effective form of therapy that allows the body's energy systems to be re-synchronized so they can operate as nature intended. Each system, cell and atom is in constant communication with each other at all times. Through exposure to the stresses of day-to-day life, however, these lines of communication can become compromised, which then leads to a decline in physical, emotional and/or mental well-being. Reconnecting these lines of communication enables the body's mechanisms to function at optimal levels, thus preventing disease and rapidly accelerating the healing process. In this way, BodyTalk stimulates the body's innate ability to balance and heal itself. BodyTalk can be used as a standalone system to treat many health problems or can be seamlessly integrated into any healthcare system to increase its effectiveness.

BodyTalk's major assets are its simplicity, safety and the speed of its results. It is non-invasive and objective in application and works effectively on humans and animals alike. Even if a BodyTalk technique is performed incorrectly, it simply means that there will be no result or change. It will not make things worse. It follows, therefore, that anyone who receives BodyTalk has nothing to lose and everything to gain as far as his or her health is concerned.

What is BreakThrough?

The BreakThrough System brings to the surface the built-in defenses and deep-seated, limiting beliefs that prevent us from living life fully. In four modules, the BreakThrough System and associated FreeFall program empower participants to take off their masks and open their lives to an improved experience.

What is MindScape?

MindScape is a method that teaches the participant to tap into faculties of the creative and intuitive mind not normally so accessible to our everyday life state of mind. In practical terms, this means that the student learns ways of engaging intuition at will and enhancing creative and intuitive abilities. This offers great benefits and open vast possibilities for every aspect of life or work. Moreover, the techniques are also powerful tools for personal development, and open interesting possibilities for BodyTalkers and other practitioners, such as distant sessions. MindScape is taught in two full days by Certified MindScape Instructors, and includes a detailed manual. There are no pre-requisites for taking a MindScape class.

What is/How can I find: a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner?

The International BodyTalk Association maintains a repository of all the healthcare professionals certified by the IBA to practice BodyTalk. This directory includes only those Certified BodyTalk Practitioners who are in the business of providing healthcare services to clients on a professional basis and who maintain their certification through continuing education.

Why is there no sound on the videos?

If sound is working on your computer for everything but the videos on this site, please check the following things when you pull up a video:

  1. Make sure that the speaker icon does not have a slash (line) through it
  2. Make sure that the slider control next to the speaker icon is not all the way to the left, this would have the volume set at 0

If you have verified these and still can not get the sound to play, please contact us!

I can't get the videos to play on the website, is there anything I can do to make them work for me?

The first thing that we always recommended is that you have the latest version of your browser installed. The technical staff at the IBA does everything possible to maintain support for all the major browsers (Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8; Firefox, Safari) but our main focus is generally on ensuring that the latest browsers work, and creating backwards compatability second. With that said, if you have a support question, you will generally be asked first to upgrade to the latest version of your browser and provide us with the version details to continue.

The videos on the website rely on two technologies to work effectively, the first is Javascript, and the second is Adobe Flash player. Not having Javascript enabled, or the latest version of Flash Player installed will make it impossible to play the videos.

To test whether you have javascript enabled, click the video you would like to play. A white popup box should open above the video. If it does not, you need to ensure you have javascript enabled. To do so, please follow the instructions below:

Internet Explorer

  1. Select 'Tools' from the top menu
  2. Choose 'Internet Options'
  3. Click on the 'Security' tab
  4. Click on 'Custom Level'
  5. Scroll down until you see section labled 'Scripting'
  6. Under 'Active Scripting', select 'Enable' and click OK

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Select 'Tools' from the top menu
  2. Choose 'Options'
  3. Choose 'Content' from the top navigation
  4. Select the checkbox next to 'Enable JavaScript' and click OK

Apple Safari

  1. Select 'Safari' from the top menu
  2. Choose 'Preferences'
  3. Choose 'Security'
  4. Select the checkbox next to 'Enable JavaScript'

Please keep in mind that upgrading your browser or installing new security software or security patches may affect your JavaScript settings. It is a good idea to double-check that JavaScript is still enabled if you notice problems displaying videos. Additionally, if your JavaScript setting is set to 'Prompt', you may encounter a warning about downloading potentially dangerous scripts from a website that displays IBA videos.

To get the latest version of Flash Player, please click here. After you download the software, run the installer and download the prompts to install it. For further technical support, please contact the IBA technical support staff.

Why won't the videos play on my computer?

You need Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer in order to play the videos. If you have Flash and they still won't play, please contact our support department.

How do I download a video?

Only some of our videos have downloads available. You will see a "download" link next to those that do. To download the video, sometimes you'll need to right-click (or control-click on Macs with only one mouse button) and then select "Save Target As", "Save Link As", or "Download Linked File" from the menu that pops up.

How do I play the downloaded videos?

The videos we provide are in MP4 format, which almost any new computer can play. The best instructions we've found are located on YouTube's support pagee, please try those first. If you have any problems after that, contact our support department.

What specific conditions can BodyTalk address?

With BodyTalk we don't' focus on only addressing specific conditions - because that would be too limiting. We have found that BodyTalk has addressed a multitude of problems and dis-eases too numerous to list. Symptoms arise in a client because their system or state of balance is compromised in varying areas of their life. BodyTalk looks at a person as a whole - body, mind and spirit and the focus is to bring that person into a better state of balance so that they can heal on many levels. The key is to be able to see the bigger picture of a health problem and then all of its causative factors become apparent. It is also important to note that any given disease can have a plethora of causative factors, many of which are very different, even for the same disease. So the customized treatment within a BodyTalk session allows for all causative factors to be addressed no matter what the health problem has been labeled. There are no set recipes for addressing various symptoms unlike most other methods of healing. Each person is treated as an individual with a unique history that has created the set of symptoms they are experiencing. In serious conditions such as cerebral palsy, severe autism, juvenile paralysis, etc., we have found that total recoveries are extremely rare. However, we have also found that most of these cases are not clear-cut in outcomes. The problem lies in the fact that when people are that compromised, every new symptom and development is blamed on the original disability, when this isn't always the case. The trend is to ignore the new problem and focus on helping the patient adapt to the changes. In BodyTalk, we have found that many of the symptoms can be addressed and this can make a very big difference to quality of life and even improve general functioning. The concept of BodyTalk is that it can optimize the health potential of each individual. So many people with disabilities or other health challenges are not living to their potential because they have been "categorized" under a specific disability or disease label. The ability to understand this and to have specific techniques to bring about health optimization is a major asset of the BodyTalk System.

I did my Fundamentals last year but I am still having trouble getting clear yes and no responses on people that aren't BodyTalk practitioners . Do you have any ideas that would help.

Have you had one of the BodyTalk instructors in your area to counsel with you? That might be best so they can tune into what it is that you may be doing that is getting in the way. These are some typical things to be aware of: If you don't have a problem working with fellow BodyTalkers but you do with others : Be clear with the person and yourself that you are just practicing. Don't charge for the session until you are a CBP and you feel confident with your abilities. This practice is about your learning how to do it and getting comfortable with it, not about "healing" a particular issue they have. If they benefit from the practice session, that is great, if they don't notice anything, it was just practice. When you charge or if you are not clear that it is just practice, there will be too much expectation of some kind of result. Get centered, breathe, bring your awareness out of your head and down into your body (often your pelvis is good for grounding). When you are too much in your head it is hard to get clear answers. When we are in doubt, we are in the left brain. Our right brain intuitive process is what perceives the answers. If you are in doubt you can't be clearly in your right brain. Relax, be in a place of "wonder". Ask yourself, "HMMM, I wonder what will come up for this person?" Get rid of your expectations of what you think should come up for this person. In other words get rid of your agenda. You may be putting too much emphasis on what they think, having to perform and having them "feel something worthwhile." Get some sessions done on yourself about possibly letting go of the beliefs around that which could include topics like: 1) I'm not good enough, 2) No one believes in me, 3) People don't take me seriously, 4) I have to be perfect, etc. Make sure you are adequately hydrated, tap our your own cortices and switching before the session. If needed leave the room briefly to tap out your cortices when you start to get unclear answers. Breathe. Remember what it is like to do a session on those people for whom you can get good answers. Remember how smoothly it can go, Give them an explanation of BodyTalk before hand so they will know what to expect and may not be so inclined to ask a lot of questions during the session, or looking confused with what is happening. Help them feel at ease and comfortable with it. Keep your explanations of what you are doing during the session short and concise. It may be your discomfort with how you explain it that is throwing you off. If so, go onto the forum and ask questions about this and or talk to your local instructor for ideas. Usually, best not to try to do sessions on family members especially those who might be judgmental or negative or have high expectations. Often we try to prove ourselves to our families. We want them to believe in this great new modality that we are now interested in even though they may not tend to believe in things that are outside of traditional health care. DO NOT do a session on someone who is not open and interested in BodyTalk and definitely don't do a session with someone who would tend to want to disprove it. You are only setting yourself up for failure and wasting your time. It is not your job to sway them or convince them. Over time let your successes with those who are open and interested speak for themselves. There may be people in your life that never believe in it because they are more geared toward left brained concepts. And that is OK. It is their life and their choice to believe as they chose. The more you try to convince someone of something they don't believe in, the more resistant they will tend to be. Go with the flow, not against it. I hope this has been helpful, Melanie Buzek

I have been practicing Access for more than a year. On the whole my health has been good and many of my aches and pains have gradually vanished. What I wish to know is that is whether the Body Talk Access Technique will act on all organs of the body or is something more required for healing of specific conditions.

BodyTalk Access is just a few of the techniques that have been taken from the BodyTalk system. The BodyTalk system is individualized to each person and much more comprehensive whereas Access is again just a few techniques anyone can do on themselves or someone else to help in an overall general sense. One person has likened Access to brushing your teeth. You brush your teeth everyday and it helps to keep your mouth clean and your teeth generally in good shape, you do Access daily to help in that overall general sense. Brushing your teeth is not always enough so you go to a dentist for deeper more specific kind of work. Access is not always enough so you go to someone who does BodyTalk for deeper more individualized work. You can go onto the website to see if there is a BodyTalk Practitioner in your area.

Trying to register for module 9 and it says I must take 3 first. However 3 isn't offered here till September and then 9 not till next year. Any chance you would have 3 online soon? Or allow me special dispensation if I read the 3 manual first?

I understand your situation and your desire to learn the new course work, however; understanding the Principles of Consciousness material is imperative to understanding and getting the most out of the Matrix Dynamics class. We do not support students pre-reading and trying to integrate the material of a class they have not taken yet. It leaves too much room for misunderstanding and misrepresentation of the material and less than optimal results. Most of the BodyTalk material is quite complex and in this case one concept builds on another. Experience has shown in the past that it does not work to allow this kind of dispensation. It is not fair to the student in the long run. It is necessary for our students to get the clearest understanding about the course material as possible in order to help support our practitioners being the best they can be and use the material in the most effective and appropriate manner. Also, If we do it for one then there is the perception that we should do it for any one. This creates more of a problem than it solves. Thanks for understanding,

I do not meet the prerequisites for an IBA course. Is there any way that I can still attend?

Unfortunately we have to stand by our pre-requisites as they have been in place for a reason. It would be unfortunate if we made the exception and the course was a disappointment because of it. IBA courses involve the understanding of technique and concepts from previous modules.
