Biography
Let me start by introducing myself to the BodyTalk Community.
My name is Saskia Buijs, I'm from The Netherlands.
I became a CBP in June 2009, and I enjoy the idea of being part of a worldwide energy of people having/doing BodyTalk.
After my first contact with the BodyTalk work in 2008 my personal and professional life changed in a very positive way. I think it’s wonderful to have clients and see what it can do to their lives. It gives so much joy, meaning and insights.
The results are fantastic, both in children as in adults.
My medical background:
In 1999 I graduated from university as a medical doctor, and immediately afterwards I became a resident in internal medicine, later specialising in oncology. In 2020 I gratuated as a specialist in addiction medicine and in 2022 I completed my postgraduate as a specialist in palliative care.
I work as a medical specialist in a hospital for patients with (often multiple) addictions, combined with severe psychiatric disorders. Besides this job, I also work as a medical specialist in palliative care in a high care hospice.
For me as a medical doctor it is very important to make a statement: BodyTalk is not a substitution for regular medical treatment, it's complementary. When I hear or see things (anamnestic of during the sessions) that I don't trust I will tell my clients and refer them to their gp or medical specialist. I strongly believe in working together!
