Practitioner Levels
BodyTalk Access Technician
BodyTalk Access was developed for the lay person or as a one-day introduction to the larger BodyTalk System. While someone who has taken the BodyTalk Access class is not considered a "Practitioner", as this is not considered a professional training, Access can be a very important part of your daily wellness routine for use on friends and family. Healthcare professionals, such as nurses or EMTs, for instance, can of course incorporate the BodyTalk Access techniques into their practices. There is an "Access Level Membership" available to join and participate in the IBA. It is not required to take Access before attending BodyTalk Fundamentals to become a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner, but is strongly encouraged, as it will give you a good grounding in the philosophy and a few of the basic techniques used in the full BodyTalk System.
Certified BodyTalk Practitioner (CBP)
A Certified BodyTalk Practitioner has completed the fundamental coursework of the BodyTalk System, monitored that coursework, and proven to a Certified BodyTalk Instructor - in both a written and a practical exam - that they have mastered the material and the techniques of the System. A CBP has taken, as a minimum, BodyTalk Fundamentals but may have also taken any number of advanced courses or adjunct courses.
Certified BodyTalk Practitioner for Animals (CBP-A)
A Certified BodyTalk Practitioner for Animals has first completed the fundamental coursework and requirements to become a practitioner of the BodyTalk System for both Humans (CBP). The practitioner has then gone on to take additional coursework and pass both the written and practical exams, with live animals, demonstrating their ability to apply the many techniques of the BodyTalk Syatem safely and effectively to animals. Many animal practitioners also have additional training and backgrounds in animal healthcare, safety or training.
Advanced Certified BodyTalk Practitioner (Adv CBP)
In 2008 the IBA created an Advanced Certified BodyTalk Practitioner (AdvCBP) level. These practitioners have demonstrated their mastery of the more advanced BodyTalk material, including all advanced courses through Matrix Dynamics, including several of the adjunct courses. The Advanced CBP certification involves two in-depth written exams in order to demonstrate an understanding of the advanced material. When performing a search for a BodyTalk practitioner in your area, Advanced CBPs will appear at the top of the list and will be identified by this marker in the left margin: .
Advanced Certified BodyTalk Practitioner for Animals (Adv CBP-A)
Advanced training in the BodyTalk Practitioner for Animals program is currently unavailable and is in the process of being re-evaluated and updated.
PaRama Practitioner
PaRama BodyTalk is the advanced work that Dr. Veltheim has been developing since 2004. PaRama BodyTalk Unit 1 and Unit 2 are DVD course lectures by Dr. Veltheim, that also have an accompanying Practical course for in-person review once the recorded lectures have been studied. These courses have expanded on the principles of the science of energy medicine and the biophysics that underpin why and how BodyTalk works. PaRama BodyTalk students use these new findings to go far deeper into the inner workings of the bodymind complex to bring about startling and long-lasting results.
Enrollment in the PaRama BodyTalk coursework is open to any CBP that is an IBA member and has completed the Principles of Consciousness and Bio-Dynamics courses. There is a separate PaRama on-line discussion forum only accessible to PaRama students. There is a PaRama BodyTalk Practitioner Certification program under development. Currently, the designation, ParBP (PaRama BodyTalk Practitioner), reflects those who have completed all the requisite coursework.
