wortelkanaalbehandeling.
Practitioner in Bloemendaal.

I studied art history, theatre science and philosophy at the universities of
Vienna, Cologne and Amsterdam and concluded my studies in Cologne with a
Master of Arts. Inspiring encounters and experiences during an internship at
the Stedelijk Museum for Modern and Contemporary Arts in Amsterdam were the
reason for me to move to Amsterdam. Later on I worked for the Stedelijk Museum
in Schiedam, the Rijksakademie for Visual Arts, the Prince Claus Fund for
Culture and Development and the Humanistic Institute for Development
Cooperation (Hivos).
I got to know BodyTalk via a
co-incidence, if actually ‘co-incidences’ exist. About 10 years ago, two
dentists advised me to undergo a root canal treatment. However, a doctor
friend, who had positive experiences with BodyTalk as a Parkinson patient, suggested
a BodyTalk session. The very next day my toothache was gone: x-rays showed
that a root canal treatment was no longer necessary. And that tooth – I still
have it...
... and since then my enthusiasm and interest in the BodyTalk System grew
stronger, urging me on to complete my studies with the official International
BodyTalk Association (IBA) and passing their exam. I now practise as an IBA
recognised Certified BodyTalk Practitioner and a PaRama BodyTalk Practitioner
in Bloemendaal, near the North Sea. So my clients often combine an
appointment with a walk along the seaside or through the Kennemer dunes to
let the session settle in their body/mind.
The BodyTalk System did not only save one of my teeth, it also supported my
personal change from someone who always wanted to have and be in control into
a more enthusiastic, curious person who has the deep trust that whatever happens
needs to happen and all is good the way it is. This has been quite a journey.
What keeps fascinating me in
the BodyTalkSystem is that in every BodyTalk session again it becomes
apparent that the body ‘knows’ exactly which issues need to be addressed as a
priority (we check this via biofeedback using a muscle). That’s why we call
it BodyTalk.
Memories, emotions or events
from the past can still be stored in our subconsciousness and can have an
impact on our health today. Also, how we deal with stress is often influenced
by our belief patters, some of which we may have inherited from several
generations back. Furthermore, the combination of microbes in our microbiome
as well as the optimal collaboration of our three brains – yes three!, the
head brain, the heart brain and the enteric brain – play an important role in
improving our health situation.
Once those themes, sometimes even from fetal life, are being addressed and
balanced with specific BodyTalk techniques, the client experiences calmness
and relaxation and the improvement of her/his health is happening. This is an
amazing process and again and again I have deep respect for the wisdom of our
body.
During my studies I developed a strong interest in indigenous cultures. I
became fascinated by their culture and art, and also studied their religions,
philosophy of life and methods of healing during my extensive travels.
For several years I travelled with Tuareg nomads through the Sahara for a few
weeks each year. I also spent a summer in a Buddhist monastery in Tibet and
visited the isolated village of Ciptagelar on West Java. I also got into
contact with shamans in Guatemala.
All of these encounters have given me new insights about the essence of life
and the resilience people can develop once they are deeply connected with
themselves, others and their surroundings. This wisdom I also often integrate
in my BodyTalk sessions.
I look very much forward to
meeting you and to listening to what it is that your body wants to tell you!
Alongeside this fantastic
work as a BodyTalker, I work as a freelance advisor and programme coordinator
for various cultural institutions, as art and creative folk are my second
passion.
