KISS: Keep It Simple, Sheila

For those of you who knew him or took a class with him, you will know that BodyTalk Founder Dr. John Veltheim often used the Australian slang name "Sheila" to refer to women (and sometimes men) with endearing fondness. For today's newsletter, Sheila felt like a more heartwarming and uplifting term to the word typically used in the acronym KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid).

I have been an instructor of Fundamentals for nearly 20 years, and I love telling the story of the one single link John did for a young girl in Germany who was in complete endocrine failure. None of the doctors or specialists could figure out what was happening to her. At the request of his friend and peer Marita Roussey (IBA emeritus instructor), John went to Germany, anticipating a complicated unfolding of formulas to help save this girl's life. He sat down, asked innate wisdom for "priority," went to SB (the sphenobasilar junction in the skull), unlocked it, and that was the end of the session, after which she recovered. The lesson, of course, is the simplicity of one formula, one link, to potentially save a life. I have always loved passing on this story under the umbrella of "keeping it simple."

Fast forward to this past year when my farm worker's brother fell off a ladder during his construction work. While working closely with his physician, he was also coming to me for sessions to deal with the multitude of symptoms he was experiencing physically, psychologically, and emotionally. He was disabled, recovering, and out of work. He was becoming more and more depressed, anxiety-filled, experiencing non-stop headaches, loss of appetite, inability to breathe, and so much more. Quite literally, he was making arrangements with his family to likely die.

We had done six sessions, and while there was healing on many layers, I too felt maybe this was becoming a choice point for him to leave. One night at 3:33 am, I woke from a deep sleep with a message from somewhere... "Lisa, his SB is locked... see if you can unlock it." I knew it was John telling me to do an agenda session, so I quickly called my farm manager and asked her to bring her brother up for a session immediately. They came that morning, and after a few preparatory links, I was able to unlock the SB and he could breathe again! His life force returned within 72 hours, and now, six months later, he is thriving and back to work.

I have the pleasure of now sharing two stories when teaching BodyTalk Fundamentals (Mod 1(2)). The value and simplicity of one link, as well as, when it's time for a priority to reveal itself, it will, and not a moment before it is the priority!
