Yoriko Ogura, Senior BodyTalk Instructor, is resigning from her position in the BodyTalk System. She shared with the IBA team that while BodyTalk has been a great journey for her, she is ready for another path. Yoriko has been invaluable to the IBA and the global BodyTalk community in helping to grow a strong community and foundation for BodyTalk in Japan. Japan is one of the largest BodyTalk matrixes globally, thanks largely to Yoriko's efforts combined with the interest and passion of so many students and practitioners. BodyTalk Founder John Veltheim has long said that the Japanese people have a special resonance with the energy of the BodyTalk System that makes them very well suited for it, so he wasn't surprised that BodyTalk found such a comfortable home in Japan. However, that would not have happened without Yoriko's immense work, dedication and persistence.
Yoriko took her first BodyTalk class in 2005, even traveling to the other side of the world to receive training. She was a CBP later that same year. It wasn't long before she was working with many of the Senior and top Instructors in the IBA to bring as many BodyTalk courses to Japan as she could, translating nearly all of them herself. It was her goal, with the help of Emeritus Instructor Sylvia Muiznieks, that students could receive all the BodyTalk modules in Japanese. So, Yoriko worked toward teaching all those courses herself and then started training others, along with Sylvia, to carry the torch.
As a Senior Instructor, Yoriko was extremely helpful in reviewing Instructor applications from all over the globe. And whether as an Instructor, a Trainer or as President of the BodyTalk Japan Association, Yoriko strove for high ideals of professionalism, poise, and accuracy in all her BodyTalk undertakings.
We wish Yoriko the very best on the next leg of her journey. Her absence in the global BodyTalk matrix will be deeply felt.
