BiographyBodyTalk, Reiki, Thai Yoga Therapy, Topf Technique/ Dynamic Anatomy
My approach to the body/mind draws upon all of the different movement and bodywork modalities that I have explored. In addition to being a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner, I am a practitioner of Topf Technique/Dynamic Anatomy, Thai Yoga Therapy, Reiki, and am a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist through ISMETA. I have completed BodyTalk Fundamentals, Fundamental Integration, Principles of Consciousness, Bio-Dynamics, Macrocosmic BodyMind, Matrix Dynamics, Family Constellations, Access and BodyTalk for Animals (8A), Traditional Chinese Medicine-BT, and PaRama Unit 1. I received my B.S. degree in Zoology and a B.A. in Dance from Univ. of Massachusetts, am studying Western Medicinal Herbalism, and am also a professional modern dancer, potter, and fiber artist.
"I have been studying and practicing healing work for over 10 years. It all began with my love for movement and search for more gentle, authentic, and fluid ways of using the body. I began inwardly with ballet, modern dance, and contact improvisation, which led to Topf Technique/Dynamic Anatomy and the philosophy of looking at the body as architecture and how to be most efficient in its use. Then came a desire to spread what I'd learned with others through teaching and private sessions in Thai Yoga Therapy, Rosen Method, and Reiki. In BodyTalk, I have found a way to integrate all of my knowledge and also to incorporate many new ideas and perspectives. The BodyTalk approach matches the way I look at healing, and I feel like I learn and grow from every session that I give. At the end of every day, I either blurt out, 'I love BodyTalk!' or 'Who was that session for? Me or the client?' "
